Get a total body workout from the inside out!  Good balance and core strength help prevent injury.  A strong heart improves the quality of life. Accomplish this through mat exercises, basic yoga poses and emphasis on proper posture.  Build muscle strength through heart training using step aerobics, planks, elastic bands and weights.  Appropriate for all levels.

Restorative yoga is defined as “a form of yoga that seeks to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props. The use of props makes it easier for you to maintain balance while you are stimulating and relaxing your body.”  In this Gentle and Restorative Yoga class, you will learn and practice poses to stretch and wring out any tensions from the day using therapeutic techniques and breathing practices designed to release anxiety and tension and bring in relaxation and comfort. Also, covered is the practice of journaling and experiential learning from your practice, weekly discussions on how to deal with daily life distractions that create barriers in a focused daily practice. This class includes 60 minutes of non-stop integrated Pilates movement followed by 30 minutes of stretching and relaxation. The class lends itself to work with beginners while challenging the most advanced participants. Pilates Sweatshop enhances the teaching of Joseph H. Pilates by incorporating an element of strength training. The results provide a greater core strength with a leaner appearance.
