Build core strength and improve your balance by using elastic bands, weights, yoga poses, and pushups. Train your heart with intervals of high/low step aerobics and jumping jacks. Yoga can help develop increased flexibility, strength, endurance, better posture, as well as an overall feeling of well being.  During this series, you will be guided through classic poses (asana) and focused breath (pranayama). You will learn how proper body alignment and yoga props can assist in asana as you evolve in your own Yoga practice.  This class is suited for beginners to intermediate, and/or those who prefer a slower paced class.  Bring to class: Yoga mat, yoga strap, 2 yoga blocks, yoga blanket and a water bottle.

Keep off that holiday weight gain and enjoy the simplistic scenery while hiking about 4 miles to train your heart. Weather permitting, there will be scenic stops to use elastic bands, yoga poses, and pushups to strengthen muscles, build core, and improve balance, or to rest and enjoy the view! If there’s early snow, snowshoes are welcome! Appropriate for everyone but must have stamina to complete the hike! Hiking schedule will be determined by the instructor.  Bring water, poles, wear warm sweat wicking clothing.

A total of 1.5 hours, this class includes 60 minutes of non-stop integrated Pilates movement followed by 30 minutes of stretching and relaxation. The class lends itself to work with beginners while challenging the most advanced participants. Pilates Sweatshop enhances the teaching of Joseph H. Pilates by incorporating an element of strength training. The results provide a greater core strength with a leaner appearance. If it snows, we go! If there’s no snow, we hike! Enjoy the expansive winter landscape while training your heart, strengthening your core, and improving your balance too!
